A win for Santa! Well done Novice LL Flames!
December 19th - Flames host the Wasaga Stars

The Flames welcomed the Wasaga Stars for the last game before the Christmas break. The entire Flames team was there and ready to play, even our good buddy #93 Nathan was there to cheer on his team.

The Flames started the game with a bang and got the first goal on the score board with #19 Monague setting the tone for the game. His line mates #10 Ingram and #7 Wright played very well together all game and had lots of great chances. The Stars came back and tied the game a few minutes later. The Flames did not get discouraged and took the lead with 2:07 left in the first with a goal by #66 Grenier, thanks to some great passing from his lane mates #9 Chicoine and #44 Boyle.

The Flames started the second period with a one goal lead, but thanks to some great passing from #19 Monague and persistence of #10 Ingram their line mate #7 Wright got the third goal of the game and the first for the season! He’s dad told me he had a good feeling about the game, and he was right! The Flames had to work hard as they found themselves short handed for two minutes while the Stars tried to take advantage of the power play; however our defensives lines of #8 Charlebois, #91 Dupuis-Cundy, #3 Cole, and #17 Hamelin made sure to clear the puck. The Flames keep the pressure on and #9 Chicoine scored the short handed goal and gave the Flames the 4-1 lead going into the third period.

The final ten minutes of the game was a just as exciting as the first twenty as the Flames never gave up. The line of #11 Fournier, #53 Lim and #87 Calvert rushed hard and made some great passes and plays. The Stars also continued to press hard and managed to get one by #30 Beatty who played a great game in net. Thanks to some great heads-up defensive plays by #15 Brown, the puck did not spend a lot of time in the Flames zone. The team continued to rush and took advantage of the power play and #11 Fournier with his fancy stick handling made a great pass to #87 Calvert and the Flames got goal number 5. The final score was the Flames 5 and the Stars 2.

Congratulations on #8 Isaac Charlebois .

Merry Christmas to all the players, coaches and parents!
