December Hockey Highlights for the Novice Flames
What a great month of hockey for the Novice Flames.

December 5th - Flames visit the Coyotes in Elmvale

The Flames started off their game against the Coyotes with fire and determination. The first period was scoreless. The fore checking by all our forwards was fantastic! The Coyotes responded in the second and managed to get two in the net. Great work by #53 Lim, #11 Fournier and #7 Wirght. The Flames continued to work hard and the line of #9 Chicoine, #10 Ingram and #66 Grenier, along with the other forwards continued to work hard getting shots on net. The last 15 minutes of the third, the Flames continued to battle hard with a few power play opportunities and some work face-off work, however the game ended in a 4-0 win for the Coyotes.

Congratulations on #10 Sydney Ingram on Player of the Game.

December 6th Flames host the Essa Eagles

The Flames hosted the Essa Eagles to a full house of fans! Essa came out strong in the first period as they scored two in the first period. The Flames regrouped and worked hard in the second period and thanks to #44 Boyles willingness to play forward, he had a great face-off and scored his first goal of the season. This goal gave the Flames some great drive and they headed into the third period down by one. The Flames have truly improved their game and demonstrated that passing makes for some great plays. #17 Hamelin demonstrated that when he make a great pass to #19 Monague tying the game at 2-2. Special mention to #91 Dupuis-Cundy who could not play do to a angle injury, but was a true team player and dressed and cheered his team on from the bench, thank you Liam for being a great team player!

Congratulations on #44 Carson Boyle on Player of the Game.

December 8th Flames travel to Coldwater to face the Wildcats

The Flames travelled to Coldwater to face the Wildcats for their second game of the season against the Wildcats and played well. The team worked hard and the line of #11 Fournier, #87 Clavert and #53 Lim worked well moving the puck. The defence of #25 Brown and #8 Charlebois worked hard to clear the sticky puck out of the Flame end. The Wildcats pushed hard throughout the game and the final score was 4-0 for Coldwater.

Congratulations on #11 Drew Fournier on Player of the Game.

December 12th Flames compete against Oro Thunder on their home ice

The Flames travelled to Oro to face the Thunder for the first time this season. The Flames started the game with determination and scored the first goal of the game at 5:30. The goal was scored by #19 Monague off a break away rebound, way to follow through and finish the play! The defensive work by #3 Cole and #93 Bradley helped the Flames keep their lead going into the second period. The Flames continued to work and skate hard in the second and continued to maintain the lead going into the final period of the game. While still working hard, Oro came out hard in the 3rd and scored their first goal to tie the game. The Flames continued to apply the pressure and with a little less than five minutes left in the game, the Thunder took the lead. The Flames worked extra hard in the last two minutes of play and with less than a minute on the clock #30 Beatty (who by the way made some great saves throughout the entire game) was pulled from the net in hopes of tying up the game. Although the Flames did not win against Oro, this was certainly one of the best games of the season! We also want to wish #93 Nathan well as he takes a small leave from the team for the next 6 weeks and we look forward to seeing you back with the team for the play-offs….you will be missed by your team mates.

Congratulations on #93 Nathan Bradley.
