First win of the Season
What a great game for the Penetang Novice LL Flames!
The team came into Angus to play the Essa Eagles knowing that each team had not won a game yet this season. With great determination the Flames came out strong in the first period and play with great energy and determinations.

The starting line for the game saw #9 Monague at Centre, #7 Wright on right wing, #17 Hamelin on the left with their defensive team mates #3 Cole, #93 Bradley and finally #30 Beatty in net!

With some extra practices under their belt, the team put the first point on the score board thanks to the great team work by the Calvert, Fournier and Grenier line. #11 and #66 made some great passes and #87 put it in the net. The Flames Fans exploded and the team was off to a great start.

Going into the second period the Flames had the lead 1-0, however the Eagles who were also looking for their first win of the season came out strong and scored two goals within the first 3 minutes of the second. The Flames did not give up and regained their composure and focussed on tying up this game. At 6:09 of the second #3 Cole, saw an opportunity to take the puck through the middle and fired a rocket from just over the blue line and scored the second goal of the game. It was all tied-up going into the third.

Thanks to the awesome Penetang Flames Fans (you know who you are….lol) the third period was sure to be a close one! Thanks to great defensive work by #91 Dupuis, #44 Boyle, #8 Charlebois and #15 Brown the Flames cleared the puck and helped out their goalie! The Flames continued to apply the pressure and with the puck in the Essa zone, #9 Chicoine with a good heads-up play, put the 3rd goal into the net all on his own!

The team continued to play well and great work by the forwards #53 Lim and #10 Ingram helped the team stay focus on a win. With less than two minutes on the clock, the Eagles pulled their goalie and put their best players on the ice in their efforts to tie the game. But the Flames played as a team and #30 Beatty never took is eye off the puck – no empty netter needed – the Flames win 3-2. Congratulations on #3 Liam Cole on Player of the Game.
