Penetang Flames Vs. Midland Centennials #1
What a great first game and victory for the Flames!

The first game of the consolation finals proved to be an exciting, heart pounding game that saw both the players and the fans happy to have that first game victory. The first ten minutes saw the Flames dominating in the Centennial zones, but unable to put one in the net. With only a few minutes left on the clock, the Centennials got one on the score board.

The second period of the game was full of excitement and unbelievable perseverance by the Flames. Twenty seconds into the second, #66 Finn B managed to sneak one by the Midland goal and tied the game at 1-1. Not to long after, #17 Spencer P broke away and put the Flames in the lead. The fans clapped with excitement and the Flames continued to respond with some great fore-checking by the line of #15 Elliot D., #19 Joshua L and #9 Trent W. That lined worked extra hard and did not make it easy for the Centennials to keep the puck out of the net! But #15 Elliot D and his line mates did not give up and put the Flames in the lead 3-1. Midland managed to sneak in two goals before the end of the second tying things at 3-3 going into the third.

The third period continued to be filled with excitement and the four defenseman, #8 Kyle B, #13 Jackson C, #44 Owen D and #53 Brennan M worked hard to keep the puck out of the Flames zone. Both teams worked hard to take the lead and Midland put the fourth goal on the score board. The offence worked well with #10 Nathan G, #91 Noah B and #4 Aidan G placing the puck and making things happen! With three minutes left in the third, #66 Finn B took off down the ice and took a great shot on net, but was stopped by the Midland goal tender, but line mate #17 Spencer P was right there with his team mate to get the rebound and tie up the game 4-4.

Sudden death overtime; how exciting for the Novice LL Flames as they had never played an overtime period. The puck dropped, the fans were on their feet and the players wanted this win at home. The line of #15 Elliot D., #17 Spencer P. and #9 Trent W worked as a team and #15 Elliot D. put one passed the blue line and gave the Flames the victory!
