Games 5 and 6 of the GBT Playdowns

Another busy weekend of play down hockey!
Game 5
Penetang Flames hit the road on Saturday to face the Dundalk Storm at home. The hour plus drive was well worth it, and Dundalk certainly had the home ice advantage. The first period was scoreless and it wasn't until mid-way through the second period that Dundalk put the first goal on the board.
The Flames went into the third period strong and #17 Spencer P got the first goal tying things up. Both team continued to work hard to put another one in the net to take the lead and once again #17 Spencer P put one in and put the Flames up by one. Dundalk was not ready to accept another loss from the Flames and came back to tie up the game. The heat was one and with only 15.6 seconds left on the clock, off the face-off #17 Spencer P scored another goal giving him a hat-trick and the Flames a victory. All around great work by everyone on the team, the passing continues to be great and the team work unbelievable!
Game 6
The Penetang Flames travelled to Elmvale to face team #1 who was coming off three straight wins. Elmvale came out of the gates strong and stayed strong for the entire game. The Flames managed to get a few points on the board, however the Elmvale team (who we usually tie) dominated the game. Great goal scored by #15 Elliot D with an assist from both his line mates, #9 Trent W and #17 Spencer P and the second goal scored by #91 Noah B on a great breakaway and backhand to score the goal. I have a feeling we have not seen the last of this Elmvale team....look out for the next time.
