Flames make big improvements against Oro Thunder #1
The Novice LL Flames came out strong on Saturday to face Oro Thunder #1 for the second time this season. Oro was first to get a goal, but it took them well into the first period to get that goal. Less than a minute later, the Flames responded and with #10 Nathan G. making a great pass to his team make #91 Noah B. who put one in the net and tied things up. Oro responded and finished the first period ahead of the Flames 2-1.
As the second period started the Flames demonstrated to Oro this would not be an easy win and the team played with real grit and determination. #31 Ryan C in net for the Flames had some great saves and kept us in the game. Oro scored their third goal, however the Flames did not give up and thanks to a great pass by #19 Joshua L., #91 Noah B put another one in the net pulling the game closer together finishing the second period 3-2 for Oro. Both teams took a few penalties in the second, however no short handed goals were scored.
Going into the third period Oro put another one of the score board, but once again #91 Noah B. responded and got his third goal of the game, giving him a hat trick for that game. The Flames continued to dig in the corner and skate hard to help keep the puck out of their end, however Oro managed to find the back of the net a few more times. Great hustle, digging and overall team work by the Flames once again. Great work team and we’ll get them next time!
