First Game of 2015 – Flames versus the Coyotes #2
After a two week break filled with candies, turkey and tones of winter fun, the Penetang Flames Novice LL team hosted the Emlvale Coyotes #2 team. It was a late Sunday evening game prior to the first day back to school (well at least we thought we might have school) and the boys came out strong scoring in the first eight minutes of the game. The first goal was scored by #91 Noah B. who was assisted by #8 Kyle B. who played a solid game on defence. Elmvale responded and got a goal to tie things up. The Flames on a break away with #91 Noah B and #17 Spencer P. displayed true team work and with a great pass by #17, #91 put it in the net.
The second period proved to be just as exciting and the team played a really gritty game and worked hard to get the puck and take it away from the Coyotes. In less then 2 minutes in the second, #17 Spencer P got a great unassisted goal. Not too long after, #91 Noah B. put his third goal of the game in the net, earning him a hat trick! The Coyotes came back and got two additional goals which closed our lead to one goal going into the third.
The last ten minutes was a well fought battle, however the Coyotes found their stride and scored two additional goals given them the win of 6-4! Special mention to our four defensive player #3 Chad, #8 Kyle, #15 Elliot and #44 Owen who worked hard all game. Great work by #31 Ryan C. as he did a great job of stopping lots of action in front of the net. In addition, the offensive lines did a great job playing with some new team mates, #10 Nathan, #13 Jackson, #19 Joshua, #11 Drew, #4 Aiden and #9 Trent.
