Penetang Flames U13 B Shows Appreciation for Support
Submitted By Duane Homick on Wed 01 18, 23
The Paul Watson Esso Penetang Flames U13 B team recently took a step back to reflect on the importance of gratitude and appreciation. As a team, they had a discussion about the definition and power of gratitude, and how expressing it can have a positive impact on both mental and physical well-being.

As a small gesture of their appreciation, the players decided to write thank-you letters to the many volunteers and supporters who make their hockey experience possible. Over the last week, the team wrote over 75 thank you cards to family, sponsors, tournament organizers, referees/timekeepers, arena and town staff, and other backers, expressing their gratitude for their dedication and support.

While it may seem like a small action, the cards have already had a big impact on the earliest recipients, many of whom were touched by the thoughtfulness and gratitude of the young athletes.

As a team, we understand that we would not be where we are without the support of our community.  We are humbled by the dedication and hard work of the many volunteers and workers that make it possible for us to play the game we love.  We hope that this small gesture of appreciation can show our gratitude for all that they do for us.

The Penetang Flames U13 B team will continue to mail or hand out their thank-you cards in the coming weeks, and will always be grateful for the support of their families and community.
