Double Winning Weekend - Novice LL & Novice Rep Both Win!
It was a double winning weekend for our two Novice teams with the Novice LL team capturing the Orr Lake Hat Trick Tournament Championship and the Novice Rep team taking home the Wasaga Beach Regional Silver Stick Championship.

The Novice LL team started with a big 8-0 victory in their first game over the Elmvale Coyotes followed by a tough 6-4 loss to the Barrie Dark Knights.  Needing at least a point in their final round robin game, the Flames tied the Midland Centennials 2-2 to qualify for the semi-finals.  In a rematch with Midland, the Flames prevailed 4-3 to head to the championship game against the same Barrie team that had beat them earlier that weekend.  This time the script was flipped and Penetang took home the Orr Lake Hat Trick Championship with a hard fought 2-1 victory!

Down the road in Wasaga Beach, The Novice Rep team went 2-0 in the round robin with solid wins over the Wasaga Beach Stars and the Newcastle Stars to head to the semi-finals as the top seed in Pool A.  After a 9-0 victory over the Ingersoll Express in the semi-finals, a rematch with Wasaga Beach was all that stood between the Flames and the Silver Stick championship.  Knowing the Wasaga team had a ton of character and would not give up, the Flames wanted to get off to a quick start - and they did just that.  With two goals on the first shift of the game and 7 in the first period, the Flames took a commanding lead and never looked back on their way to an 11-1 win.

The Novice Reps will now compete for the International Silver Stick Championship in Pelham, ON from Jan 10-13th.

Congrats to both Novice teams on an excellent weekend of hockey!
