Referees and Timekeepers Wanted
We are looking for on and off-ice officials for the upcoming 2022/2023 season.

Referees:

For those that will be 14 years old on or before December 31st of this year, you are eligible to become a referee. We are planning to run on-ice training and development skates just before the season kicks off. You would also be required to attend and successfully complete an OMHA or OWHA Certification clinic. Should the interest be there, we may also look at running various off-ice development meetings.

For those that will be 12 years old on or before December 31st of this year, Hockey Canada has announced its updated Officiation Pathway. Level 1 officials now must be a minimum of 12 years of age as of December 31st of the current season. While there has been no flow-down of this new age allowance from the OHF, OMHA, or OWHA, we are taking names of those interested should this change be recognized by one or more of the member associations, or at a minimum for future years when you would meet the 14 year age requirement.

Time commitments are based on the number of officials available however one could expect games generally a couple of weekends each month through the core of the hockey season.

Timekeepers:

For those too young to officiate, or not quite ready to step into a game as an on-ice official, we are also looking for those interested in timekeeping. While there is no age restriction for timekeepers, maturity, availability, commitment, and comfort with the various aspects of timekeeping will ultimately determine the level and quantity of games. Training will be provided for new timekeepers on utilizing the clock systems, along with both electronic and paper gamesheets. Similar to referees, time commitments are based on the number of timekeepers available however one could expect games generally a couple of weekends each month through the core of the hockey season.
