Flames Versus the Midland Centennials 1 all weekend!
Saturday January 23rd in Midland and Sunday January 24th in Penetang!

It was a full weekend of hockey for the Flames Novice LL team and it was all about trying to get a win against the Midland Centennials Novice LL team 1! The Flames entered the weekend games knowing that the Centennial 1 team had gone undefeated all season. The Flames also knew this team had a reputation of beating teams by well over 10 plus goals per game, but the Flames would have none of that and managed to keep both games under 9 goals against.

Both games of hockey were well played by all players of the Flames Novice LL team and I must say with great sportsmanship as well. The Flames came out strong in both games and made the Centennials work for each and everyone of their goals.

The team offence did a great job fore-checking and keep the puck in the neutral zone. The starting line of #19 Monague, #10 Ingram, #7 Wright set the tone and the game was off to a great start. The line of #11 Fournier, #53 Lim, #87 Calvert continued to add the pressure and did their best to create some great opportunities. Keeping the game moving on offence was also the line of #66 Grenier, #44 Boyle and #9 Chicoine who played with lots of grit and determination. Although the forwards played a great game, we did not manage to one on the board all weekend, but in game two there was certainly more opportunities and some great passing and team work.

Great work by our defensive players in both games as well. #3 Cole, #91 Dupuis-Cudy, #15 Brown, #8 Charlebois  and #17 Hamelin played in big part in keeping the games within reason and for helping out their goalie #30 Beatty who saw a tone of shots on net this weekend. Some even went as far as calling him a ‘puck hog’ this weekend…lol

Once again, thank you to our dedicated fans for being at both games over the weekend and #93 Bradley for cherring on his team....who might just be on the ice with us this coming weekend!

Congratulations to #66 Ryder Grenier on Player of the Game for Saturday and #30 Kyle Beatty on Sunday.

Also a big congratulations to #7 Evan and #30 Kyle for winning the hockey sticks that had been so generously donated to PMHA and specifically the Novice LL team.

Great work Flames!
