Flames travel to Wasaga to face the Stars.
Coach Jay said "#30 Beatty is really hoping for a ‘goose egg’ (aka shutout) in todays game". And the team certainly took his words to heart as #30 got his first shut-out of the regular season!

Coach Jay started the team discussion on Sunday by asking all the players if they had lots of turkey over the holidays and hoped the effects of the endorphins had warn-off! Assistance Coach Beatty asked Coach Jay “What is an endorphin?” as the young Flames seemed a little puzzled by his comment!

The Flames started off the game in Wasaga with a real bang! The offensive lines played extremely well and I really wish #11 Fournier had his Christmas gift on his helmet (he got a Go-Pro) as he played like ‘Jack Eichle’ from the Buffalo Sabres.

The Flames took control early and at 8:29 in the first period #19 Monague scored with the assistance of #10 Ingram and #7 Wright of his line. The Flames defence worked hard, #91 Dupuis-Cudy, #17 Hamelin, #8 Charlebois and #15 Brown (aka Bobby Orr as per Coach Jay commented after the game – it was that great break out play Duncan – you made your grand-parents proud, who have been in town for the holidays all the way from Newfoundland).

The Flames continued to work hard in the second and #3 Cole, #66 Grenier and #53 Lim puts lots of pressure on the Stars and had a few good shots on net. Going into the third period of the game and with another 15 minutes to go, the Flames worked hard to secure another goal and did so at 9:03 in the third. #87 Calvert found the back of the Stars net thanks to a great pass by #17 Hameline and #44  Boyle. Great team work by the Flames made that second goal super awesome. The Flames won their second game against the Stars 2-0!

A special THANKS to all the fans who made the game and filled the visitors side of the stands. Thanks #93 Bradley who is somewhat of a good luck charm to his team mates for being there along with his family. To Duncan’s grand-parents here from Newfoundland, to Kyle’s cousins from Leamington and to everyone visiting for the holidays, it’s so great to have great fans encouraging our Penetang Novice LL Flames each and every game!

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and here is to working hard in 2016 as we come off a tie and two wins! Go Flames!
