Flames face the Essa Eagles in the first two games of the play-downs!
And so the playoffs begin! The Georgian Bay Triangle LL play-downs have started and the Flames find themselves in the Novice Rep B pool ready to face four new opponents during the round-robin play-downs. We will play against the Wasaga Stars, the Essa Eagles, the Shelburn Wolves and the Stayner Cyclones.

The first two games saw the Flames up against the Essa Eagles. The Flames first travelled to Angus to face the Eagles on February 6th and hosted them at home on Valentines Day for game two.

The Flames have done a great job against the Eagles and have found themselves to be a contender tying both games at 3-3. Unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to catch game one, but I did see the Flames in action in game two and the team certainly came out in the first period with a bang scoring the first goal at 8:10 in the first. Great work by the line of #10 Piotrowski , #44 Landriault, and #93 Charlebois putting the Flames on the score board. The Eagles responded with a goal to tie the game and put another one in during a power play that say the first period end at 2-1 for the Eagles.

The Flames did not give up and responded in the second period with a goal by #19 Picken with help from his line-mates #8 Gravel and #66 Couling. The Eagles did not stop and managed to get more one before the end of the second, making it a 3-2 game going into the third.

The Flames found themselves on a power play quickly in the third and went to work to tie the game at 3-3. Great work #93 Charlebois on the goal and great team work by his line-mates. The defensive lines for the Flames, #4 Parent, #17 Tucker, # 87 Charlebois and #9 Ross skating hard to create opportunities up the ice for their team mates, #13 Price, #91 Dupuis and #53 King however there was no getting another one pass the Eagles goal tender. #31 Craftchick did a great job between the pipes keeping things tied right to the end.

Great work team and keep it going as you face the Wasaga Stars this weekend at home. Go Flames.
