2015 Bobby Orr Hall of Fame – Annual Classic Novice and Atom Hockey Tournament
A WIN, A TIE and a loss……This weekend the Penetang Flames Novice REP team played in the 2015 Bobby Orr Hall of Fame – Annual Classic.


The first game of the tournament was played on Friday October 16th against the East Gwillimbury Eagles. Wearing their black jerseys and new Flames socks the team was ready to start a weekend of play. The team worked hard to keep the very aggressive Eagles out of the Flames end before they scored their first goal at 4:23 left in the first. The Flames continued to battle throughout the next two periods and unfortunately finishing the game down one game to start the tournament.

THE WIN

Early Saturday morning, the Flames came up against the West Ferris Trappers. Determined to get a win in the tournament, the team started off strong and played like a team from the team and with lost of desire to get some goals! The Flames applied great pressure right from the first face-off and #13 Price scored a great one at 8:35 in the first period and this is all it took to ignite the FLAMES. Just over a minute later, #19 Picken scored the second goal of the game thanks to assistance by #66 Couling and #8 Gravel. Not less then 48 seconds later #44 Landriault scored the third goal of the game! The team continued to apply the pressure and at 5:33 in the first #53 King scored the fourth goal of the game and his first of the season. The Flames then found themselves in a power play position and #10 Piotrowski scored the firth goal to close off the first period.

The team continued to play hard and with great passing into the second period and from there the team continued to put the puck between the pipes. Goals in the second were scored by #13 Price through the 5-hole, #53 King by a great pass by team mate #19, #44 Landriault with the help of his line mates #10 Piotrowski and #93 W. Charlebois. The scoring did not stop there as #17 Tucker fired one from the blue line to put the Flames up by 9 goals. The scored continued to climb by additional goals by #19, #10, and #17 to finish the second period.

Going into the third period with the clock running, there was no stopping the Flames, and the goals continued by #8 Gravel getting his first of the season, #87 B. Charlebois on a great break-away and the last goal for #13 Price giving him a hat-trick. Thanks to great defence work by #9 Ross and #4 Parent throughout the game, the shared net mining by #30 Craftchick and #31 Beatty gave them their first shut-out of the season.

The Tie

Game three saw the Flames come up against the Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds. The Flames were excited to play their next game after coming-off a great win and had lots of determination in their eyes. The Puckhounds started the game with a bang and managed to find the back of the net scoring the first two goals of the game and the only two for the first period. The Flames regrouped and started the second with something to prove. On a power play, #13 Price along with his very determined line mates #91 Dupuis and #53 King put the Flames on the board. Determined to show the Puckhounds they were contenders, #10 Piotrowski scored tying the game at 2 each. Going into the third, the Puckhounds managed to score a goal putting them in the lead by one goal. The Flames did not stop and continued to show their determination and with 2:20 left to play in the third period, #19 Picken tied up the game. Game three finished with in a 3-3 tie thanks to every single player on the Penetang Flames Team. Great work by everyone this weekend and a special thanks to all the parents and sisters who cheered their Flames on the entire weekend!
