Flames win Stayner tournament
The Penetanguishene Foodland Flames reeled off three thrilling victories to win the Stayner Minor Hockey Association bantam local league tournament on Sunday.

Centre Jacob Poole scored the winning goal in all three games for the Flames, including one in overtime and another in double overtime.
In the final against Centre Wellington, Poole scored just 11 seconds into the game, providing all the offence the Flames needed in a 2-0 triumph. Marcel Dorion scored into an empty net to cap the win. Assists went to Owen Mealing and Stephen Lefaive.
Goalie Jacob Bernard earned game MVP honours with the shutout.
Penetanguishene opened the tournament with a 3-2 overtime win against the Collingwood Blackhawks. Besides Poole, goals went to Lefaive and Dorion, with assists being earned by Kyle St. Amant (2), Dylan Lortie and Ben Walton.
As tension-filled as that game was, the Flames outdid themselves in their second game, clawing back from a 2-0 deficit to down Richmond Hill 3-2 in double overtime.
Mealing started the comeback early in the second period, and Poole tied the game late in the third before cementing his status as a clutch performer with the winner just 45 seconds before the end of the 3-on-3 overtime frame.
Lefaive and Mitchell Taylor picked up assists in the game.
