Flames lose hard-fought game
The Penetanguishene Foodland bantam local league Flames poured on the pressure during the third period, but fell just short in a 3-1 road loss to the Wasaga Beach Stars on Sunday night.
All the scoring took place in the second period. Kyle St. Amant scored for Penetang, whipping home a high wrist shot after a brilliant rush by defenceman Dylan Lortie.
Flames goalie Nathan Howe played a great game, stopping shot after shot to keep the score close. In the third period, with the Stars leading by two, his solid play gave his teammates a chance to come back.
Despite a 5-on-3 power play, the Flames just couldn't put another shot past the Stars goaltender.
