Bantam LL Flames lose opener
The Penetanguishene Foodland bantam local league Flames went down to defeat Friday night at the North Simcoe Sport and Recreation Centre, losing 4-1 to Midland No. 3 in their first game of the season.
Jacob Poole, assisted by Gavin Marion, scored with 18 seconds left in the game to spoil the Midland goalie's shutout.
The game was scoreless after the first period, but the Centennials erupted for four second-period goals -- including three in less than a two-minute span -- to take a commanding lead.
The Flames next see action on Oct. 20, when they travel to Wasaga Beach to play the Stars.
